Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of services do you have?

Our services are worshipful and blended in nature with a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary choruses.. Our sermons are Bible based, holiness centered, with humor and application to everyday life .

What is appropriate to wear to church?

Come as you are! The dress ranges from casual to professional – it’s your call! We just want you to join us and be comfortable, whatever your preference may be.

Do you have childcare?

Yes! We love children at Donelson Nazarene! Please be assured that your child will receive tender loving care while your family is with us.

The nursery provides loving care and introduces even the tiniest of children to God’s love during Sunday School and Sunday Worship Service. Currently we have a nursrery class, preschool class, and an elementary children class  and an exciting Children Church during the Morning Worship Service.

What is the Church of the Nazarene?

The Church of the Nazarene is the largest denomination in the Wesleyan–holiness tradition. The doctrine that distinguishes the Church of the Nazarene and other Wesleyan denominations from most other Christian denominations is that of entire sanctification. The scripture teaches that God calls Christians to a life of holy living that is marked by an act of God, cleansing the heart and filling the individual with love for God and humankind (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.) Like salvation, entire sanctification is an act of God’s grace, not of works. Our pursuant service to God is an act of love whereby we show our appreciation for the grace that has been extended to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Do I have to be a member to attend?

No, not at all! Everyone is welcome, no matter what your walk of life or your needs may be. Everybody is welcomed!

How do I become a member?

Church membership has its rewards and benefits! Membership class is held when needed and is an opportunity to learn what we believe is the essence of the Christian faith, to understand our purpose and who we are as a church. Membership class attendance is required unless you are transferring your membership from another Nazarene church. Membership in the Nazarene Church represents the membership we all share, as Christians, in the body of Jesus Christ.
